Bwa ha ha! Goodbye, real world! I'm probably going to revert to my high school days where I practically lived through my Internet connections!

That is, if my connection stays stable. It appears to be very shoddy, but our Internet always has been in this house.
From the day we set up our first wifi connection, we've had issues with our modem going in and out.

Luckily, I have work to distract me from the sinister goings-on of the world wide web.
Ever since we got our new managers, I've been working pretty steady hours. And now that the Christmas season is in full swing, I'll be getting more and more hours! YES! I love being loved at my work. Also, every single one of my coworkers are absolutely amazing. I feel like they make my job that much more enjoyable. :) It's absolutely wonderful.

I don't even mind coming home covered in glitter! Although, glitter itches like a BITCH! Seriously. No, joke.

Although, I have other parts of my life that aren't nearly as rosy.
I'm trying so very hard to get my driver's license. I've had to jump through eight million hoops.
I'm starting to think I might be an alien. Like...from outer space. Because I need every possible form of identification to prove that I'm actually a US citizen. Including, but not limited to, my birth certificate, my social security card, and my high school yearbook.

...next they'll be asking for my blood for DNA testing or some crap like that.
Thank you, DOL. Thank you for making my tiny scramble for freedom nearly impossible. *sigh*

Not only that, but with my slightly over minimum wage job, it's making it nearly impossible for me to move out of my rents' house.

Luckily, thanks to my lovely friends, Mr. Edgley and Mr. Breimon, I have future roommates. :D
I now just have to save up enough money to actually move in with them.

...and I need to find a second job.
AUGH! Woe is me!

Actually, it's not that bad. Just another real life struggle in the life of a fairly normal Maddie. It's helping me build character. :D

BOOYAKA!

Toodles,
Queen Madz

M. Hard to believe, I know, but work with me here.

They merely looked at the world and uttered the lyric "Let's talk about sex."

So, why not? Let's talk about it.

I shall begin with a little factoid about myself:
I have never had sex. I'm abstinent. And I plan to be until I am married.
'Nuff said.

However, this doesn't mean that I don't think about it, want it, or participate in activities that teeter on the precipice of sex.
Hey, I'm human after all, aren't I?

Unfortunately for me, my inexperience with the subject puts me in a rather awkward spot when it comes to innocent sexy times with a significant other.
Personally, I'm much more comfortable cuddling up and watching a movie with my guy than I am getting down and dirty, exploring the unknowns of life as it were.

Maybe I'm destined to be gay or something. XD My stepmother tells me that I'm looking for a girl if I want that kind of tame relationship. Ha.

I must say, I find it rather unfortunate that guys (or at least the ones that I've encountered) are unwilling to pursue that kind of a simplistic relationship. I realize that it's a need. And I'm not saying that I don't have that need, cause I do. I'm just saying that it would be nice to not be constantly pestered with said need.

It's exceedingly tiresome.

Also, just a little thing I've figured out:
Not being pursued all the time makes me want to pursue.

Sure, I may not be as gung-ho and active as a guy, but that doesn't mean that a little bit of downtime won't cause some need to build up, ya know?

I'm all for getting to know one another. It's fun on a bun. No joke. BUT, I don't want a rushing whirl of lusty emotions and BAM! A big finish.

That's what action movie trailers are for.

I like things to linger. Full-length feature film.

Hook, rising action (har har no pun intended), plot development, tension, tension, climax, nice cuddly denouement.

Fact.
~Queen Madz

M. Six months of convincing someone that being with you is the one thing that makes the most sense out of anything else in your existence. No dice.
Two weeks away and they decide you are finally something special. Something beautiful and amazing. That the effort it would take to be in a relationship would be actually rewarding and possibly wonderful.

...Too bad you've moved on.
Too bad you've decided that you're exhausted from all the persuasion.
You're done fighting.
It's finished.

You know what the absolute worst part is though?
Wanting the person to fight for you. Like you fought for them...
It's almost like you're daring them. "Come on. Prove it. What did two weeks show you? Do you wanna be with me because you think I'm someone you want to spend your life with? Or because you're lonely? And I was the only one who cared?"

So, please, prove to me your feelings are true. Show me that you really want my love. Persuade me into trusting you again.

Convince me.

Just like I tried to convince you.

For six months.

-Queen Madz
Published with Blogger-droid v1.6.9

M. Woo woo! It was a total blasty blast beyond belief for realz. <3

Lemme break it down for you because it was awesome:

Got to cosplay as three of my favorite characters~!

Did Speed Dating which was actually really really fun.

MET KOTONO MITSUISHI!!!!

Obtained a giant Tepig doll, a Sandile plushie keychain, Sailor Moon R: Promise of the Rose in Japanese, a Munna plushie keychain for The Bob, a Pyramid Head wall scroll for The Bob, a Sailor Moon wall scroll for me, a Sailor Moon pencil case for my older sister, and a couple other things that I can't remember off the top of my head. (Mostly delicious fruit gummies)

Entered a Just Dance 2 competition (lost, but whatever)

Went to the Sailor Moon panel which was THE BOMB!

Preordered my copies of Codename: Sailor V and Sailor Moon mangas that come out in September!

Met a lot of cute guys and got some numbers! <3

Danced like crazy as Ulala!!!

Ended up in near-sobbing tears on the last day because of fatigue and disappointment.

Okay, time for the serious explanation:

On Friday, I was C.C. from Code Geass. I was practically swarmed with people pointing and taking pictures of me.
"LOOK! IT'S C.C.! OMG! C.C.!"

I was on an internet television show. Half the time I was really confused what the hosts that were interviewing me were saying because they would talk to each other in Japanese. So I awkwardly showed them all my stuff I had purchased. LIKE BOMBERMAN 64! OMGOMGOMG! Soooo freaking excited about that. For realzies times one thousand to a million and a half times!

I GOT KOTONO MITSUISHI'S AUTOGRAPH! OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMG! It was the most exciting thing I've ever had the amazing ability to experience ever! ...I don't even know if that sentence made sense. I'm still rather tired from this weekend so my ability to write is slightly compromised.

Either way, I told Kotono that the moment I was getting her autograph was the best ever. Her translator told her that and her response was that she was honored. <3

It made me giddy for the entire rest of the day.

The Bob and I went to the Sailor Moon panel. I was absolutely giddy about being in a room with a bunch of Sailor Moon nerds like me. But, I felt outdone because I don't know any of the voice actors names and that's who we talked about most of the time. I was totally lost for most of it. Gotta get on that learning thing. XD MORE KNOWLEDGE TO GET!

During the panel, Peter texted us and told us about the Just Dance 2 competition going on in the game room. I was only slightly excited about it since I've kinda been out of practice since Peter beat me beating my score on the Jackson 5 song. We went back to Yeoung-Hee's apartment (She's totally awesome for letting us stay there this weekend!), and played Just Dance for practice.

After Peter totally owned me every single time (grumble grumble), I decided it just wasn't a competition I wanted to enter. Plus, I had like ten or twenty (and by ten or twenty, I mean three or four) panels I wanted to go to, so I just wasn't going to enter in it. Whatever.

On Saturday, I wanted to wake up early, get all dressed up in my Ulala outfit and be at the con by nine-thirty because there was another autograph session with Kotono Mitsuishi and I'm an autograph-grubbing greedy greedy piggyface! ...only not. The second autograph was going to be for my sister.

Alas, my ride to the con from Yeoung's apartment (coughcoughpetercough) didn't want to wake up and get ready in time for us to go. So, I missed out on that opportunity. It was sort of a bummer to the max, yo.

Either way, getting there by noon would be the best, right? Especially since there was a Q&A with Kotono at noon that I REALLY wanted to go to! And we got there with seven minutes to spare for me to book it to the sixth floor, sit down, and enjoy nerding out to someone I absolutely admire.
...alas, we had to drive around with Peter for thirty freaking minutes looking for parking until we finally got dropped off and missed nearly the entire panel.

Whatever. That's only two of the panels I wanted to go to that I've missed completely and will never be able to attend again in my lifetime. I'm totally not bitter about it or anything. (Only I am a little, but whatever.)

Still, we got there in time for Speed Dating. <3

Two hours of listening to myself talk about myself and forgetting completely to ask questions about the guys that were looking for someone to cuddle. LMAO, I suck. XD

I did, however, get a couple of numbers out of the deal. <3<3<3 And the guys whose numbers I got? Super cute. And SUPER nice too.

One guy, Clayton, was like a less intense John Frost. He was the first guy I talked to. And he came back at the end and gave me a hug. Super nice guy. Saw him at the dance later that night. He told me he gave a tranny midget a piggyback ride and danced around with him on his back. XD Good stuff. For realz.

I will tell you, though, two and a half minutes is not enough time to make a lasting impression attached to a name. XP

I remember all these guys and their faces and the awesome things they said in order to make me ask for their contact information. ...however, I don't remember which name belongs to which face. I actually feel really really bad about it. I'm such a jerk sometimes. XD

The ones with last names, I'm going to attempt to find on facebook because I really am the sucks at talking on the phone so it'd be easier that way. lol

So, the two questions I got asked the most were:

Who are you? Ulala from Space Channel 5. It's a rhythm dancing game.

Are you going to the dance tonight? Well, sure. Hadn't really planned on it, but now I will.

And especially since the next thing I had planned to do was with The Bob at 11 at night, the dance sounded like a fun way to pass the time. Plus: I'm Ulala! When have I ever lost at dancing? (Ignoring the fact that I lost at the Just Dance competition. Shush.)

When I showed up at the dance with Peter and The Bob, I was slightly underwhelmed by the music. It was okay at best. They definitely needed some more dancey-dancey beats and less dancey-stop-for-a-second-dancey-waitaminute-dancey-is-this-another-meme-song-dance-dance-stop music. It really threw off my dancing groove. For realzies times a million.

BUT, I still had tons of fun! And Ren bought me a glowstick. AND I saw this one guy I knew from high school that I always kinda thought was cute, but neither of us really paid the other any mind unless we were in a group together in class. Either way, he was shirtless and I was like "Damn. He's still pretty good-looking."
It was great.

So, when The Bob and I left for the Read or Die OVA thing at eleven, we discovered that it had been pushed back until 11:30, so we headed back to the dance to get our boogie on for a little longer.
And Peter asked me to help him repark his car because our parking was only good until midnight and the OVA went until one.
So, I went with him.

I dunno if any of you have driven around, looking for parking, with an easy to irritate guy before, but it's not very fun. Luckily, after thirty minutes to an hour of driving around in circles and being extremely unsuccessful, we found parking and I booked it back up to the sixth floor to sit with The Bob in an extremely tired and sore stupor and watch what was left of his Read or Die OVA thing.

We were both exhausted and ended up leaving early. XD

By the time we got back to the apartment, the three of us were sooooo exhausted that The Bob and Peter just literally crashed on the floor, which is what I would've done if I hadn't had to get all the freaking pink hairspray out of my hair. HOLY CRAP! It took an extra thirty minutes just to do that and then blowdry my hair so I didn't go to bed with it sopping wet. XD

On Sunday, we slept in. I decided when my alarm went off at seven in the morning to tell me to get ready for the last early morning panel I wanted to go to and I could barely move, that it really wasn't worth it to drag myself into a sleep-deprived heap of getting-ready-ness.
Also, I was so sore I couldn't stand to move my legs. XD Freaking dancing/walking/stuff. XD

Besides, my last panel was at 2 in the afternoon and we could make it there in plenty of time!

...why am I always mistaken?

So, Peter finally got up at eleven, RUSHED to the convention center to take one last swing at the Just Dance competition (he took 2nd when it was all said and done! Woo woo!), and made it back to the apartment by one o'clock. PLENTY of time to make it to my panel.

But, he had to shower and The Bob had to shower and everyone still had to get ready.
So, when my alarm went off to tell me that there was only fifteen minutes until the VERY LAST panel I wanted to go to started, I might've started to lose the last of my composure.

That added on to the fact that I was dead tired equals emotional breakdown eminent! Because when you're tired, your barrier between "keeping a happy face on" and "breaking down into a pile of smooshy tears" is generally VERY VERY low.

I managed to keep from breaking down completely until Ren, Yeoung, and Darla left the apartment and we were all alone.

(Also: I learned later that there was a miscommunication in the "What Time Does Maddie's Panel Start?" area and Peter genuinely thought that we'd already missed it by the time he'd returned from the Just Dance competition.)

Either way, we got ready, went to the Exhibitors' Hall, and got our shop on!

Me more so than The Bob and Peter because I was comfort shopping. A very bad habit that I have and am trying to break myself of. However, I made an exception for myself that day and blew close to 200 dollars on random paraphernalia that I deemed worthy of riding home with me.

Including, but not limited to:

A GIANT Tepig plushie that I affectionately named Theodore after my Tepig in the game <3

A Sandile and a Munna plushie keychain for me and The Bob respectively.

Sailor Moon R: Promise of the Rose (English Subbed Version) because it's the only Sailor Moon movie I didn't own already.

A Pyramid Head wall scroll for The Bob because he mentioned he wanted it on the first day, but he didn't have any money for it by the last day and I was feeling nice despite being in an "I hate you all" sort of mood.

Kiwi gummy candies (made with REAL KIWI!) because I'm a candy hoarder!

A C.C. drinking glass! To go with my Sailor Moon drinking glasses! YAY! MORE DRINKING IMPLEMENTS FOR WHEN I FINALLY MOVE OUT!

And I still had enough money to spend for when we ventured over to Uwajimaya later! MORE GUMMY CANDIES OFF THE STARBOARD BOW, CAP'N! FRUIT FLAVORS AHOY!

So, after I blew most of my money and Peter found me again, I left the Exhibitors' Hall and waited with the group for Kevin to show up because he had my purse with all my meds and stuff in it. XD

Then we went to Uwajimaya. And I stocked up for the next year and a half on delicious fruit gummies and Calpico. Glorious, glorious Calpico that never ever goes flat. <3
(I also bought those delicious Botan Rice Candies that my older sister and I used to get when we were younger! I LOVE THOSE THINGS!)

So, with my ridiculously unhealthy bounty in hand, we left Uwajimaya (with no charge in parking too! It's the first time I've ever been thanked for impulse shopping!).

And thus began the long ride home in which I slept! But only for an hour and not very well.
Piita Bread apparently took a picture of me when I was sleeping. XP

When we finally arrived home, I was about ready to collapse in a pool of tears and fatigue, but I managed to (with the help of Peter) carry all my things upstairs, eat something actually substantial that wasn't Japanese food, Subway, or Chipotle, and nearly burst into tears telling my stepmom about how I missed 85% of the panels I planned on going to.
(There was also a moment where I nearly cried telling Peter that I was super bummed about how not a single person took a picture of me in my Jasmine outfit... T_T It was not a good Sunday.)

Then, I promptly collapsed on my bed and slept until three the next day.

Well, since this has been one hella long post and I've been writing it for three days, I'm going to finally end this and let you all go back to your lives of not reading my blog posts. XD

TTFN,
Queen Madz

PS,
Despite all the letdowns, I still had a major super awesome time. <3 And we saw some phenomenal cosplayers while we were there. Mad props to the people who can figure that stuff out.

M. David, our resident "big baby" cat, won't relinquish the top spot. He's feeling selfish. XD

That, of course, doesn't stop the two newest additions to our household from attacking him for top tier. They are quite the energy fiends.

There is a HUGE box lying in the middle of our floor. It's amazing how we spend money on cat toys and other doodads, but nothing stops the awesomeness of a box.

I suppose the same rules apply for children.

I dunno if I mentioned last time about my decision to go to Sakuracon this year. But, I've already started on getting a group together. My only problem is, I SUCK at planning. Talk about feeling overwhelmed...

SOMEONE HELP ME!

I need to flesh out designs for three costumes, find the supplies necessary for making them, and get them finished by April 22nd...and that's not all...

I'm in dire need of an assistant...

TTFN
- Queen Mad
Published with Blogger-droid v1.6.5

M. Wow...it's been a while, hasn't it?
Well, let me do a quick update on life for you:
- Got a job at Michaels Arts & Crafts a little over a year ago, been working there ever since.
- Had a boyfriend for 7 and a half months. Now we're BFFs.
- Moved out of Beana's and into my parents' house.
- Still can't drive.
- Haven't been back to college since Spring 2009.
- Got a smart phone.
- Learned how to crochet. :)

So, I'm updating this blog from my phone via an app rather than text messaging, which seems to work better. I love my phone! It's super nice.

Oh! OH! My bestest buddy had a baby who is almost a year old now (holy crap). His name is Mars. I'm his godmother. :)

I've been crocheting a lot recently. Just learned how, so I'm an eager beaver. Gonna crochet Christmas presents and an afghan for myself! Yay!

Anyhow, I need to go to bed for I have to be up early for work tomorrow. AND I need some nom-noms.

Expect more updates! <3

TTFN!
- Maddie
Published with Blogger-droid v1.6.5

M. This is Maddie trying out the phone blogging experience. Lol.

This is kinda interesting. Just think of all the things that I'll be able to tell you on the fly. Like, I could be sitting in my cinema class, text/blogging everyone about the ridiculous movies we're watching.

Ok, I'm not actually in cinema right now, but I do want to tell you that it rocks. What other class lets you write a paper on "This Is Spinal Tap" for credit? Very few, I would assume.

Anyway, my thumbs are getting as tired as my arms are from pilates. I'll make an official post later!

Toodles,
Maddie

M. Frost said I made it all possible.

Not only was our picket a success, but we also got several people who would stop by and tell us their stories of how Meineke had done similar things to them. The feedback was astounding. We also got free hot chocolate from the Burgerville next to the Meineke. It was awesome.

In other news:
My dad lost his job. I'm so super sad right now. Luckily for him, I'm going to be getting student loans to help pay for my college so he won't have to worry about it. I don't want to add that much stress on him.

Now I can only hope that he can find another job that he'll rock at as well. My dad is pretty stellar and I worry about him a lot. This is a pretty sucky time in life.

I'm going to do my best to make it easier on my dad so that he can do his best. Furthermore, I will refuse to be downbeat about it. I REFUSE TO BE SAD! I have to carry the happy torch. No pessimism from Maddie.

So, to distract myself, I will tell you about how I'm going to Sakuracon with my friends in a couple of weeks.

Sakuracon:
I had no money to go, but Beana, Mindy, and Frost all pitched in so that I could join them. I'm super excited about it because I have such awesome friends.
The only thing I find annoying is the fact that we're going to be sharing a room with two other people, one is Kayla (who I'm not too happy with) and the other is Clara (who is just plain annoying).

Y'know how there are those people who just talk and talk and talk about themselves all the time? That's Clara. Every single thing you say could relate back to her.
"My spleen just gave out. I might die."
"That reminds me of when I almost died in the apartment I used to...blah blah blah"

It's so annoying.

As for Kayla...well...she's kinda shallow. I feel like she makes herself have an opinion on everything, but she doesn't really have an opinion on anything. I feel like I'm talking to someone who feels like they know a lot, but they don't. Like talking to a 10-year-old.

That's really all I have to say for now. About a week ago (last Thursday), I finished my second quarter in college! Hooray! I'm also excited to announce that I passed all of my classes with floating colours. I say "floating" because they aren't stupendous enough to be flying colours. They just hovering really.

Regardless, after this next quarter, I never have to take math again! YAY! I'm moving on to "Math in Society" which is a math class for liberal arts students or the people who don't plan on having math as an important part of their lives. That would be me! :D

I've been on Spring Break for a week now and I'm loving the time spent NOT worrying about homework. I have been keeping fairly busy though. I've had about two lazy days since break started. Beana and Frost are seeing to that.

Today is a good day too. I'm attending my first picket/party today. We're picketing Meineke because they totally screwed Frost over. They told him that they were going to install a new radiator, made him pay for the labour to put the radiator in, and never put it in. Not only that, but they didn't fix the other problems and they made him pay an extra $900 when he went in again to get them fixed.

Needless to say, Frost is not happy.

So, we got together on Wednesday, painted signs, and now we're going to spend the day partying and picketing across the street from the Meineke in the park. Fun times.

In other news:
I'm really worried about my dad at the moment. Apparently, yesterday when he was flying (he's a pilot), he had a really bad landing and now his job is in jeopardy. It sucks because my dad is an awesome pilot and I don't like to see him this way. He's got that tone of voice that pretty much breaks my heart right now. :C I'm praying to God that his employers will cut him a break this time. Everyone deserves a second chance, right?

In other other news:
I'm writing the script to a slasher/thriller movie. I was inspired by Frost's pig farm. It's so creepy and awesome that I just needed to film a movie there. I won't say much right now, but it'll be killer. HA! Bad pun. Unintentional bad pun, actually. That's the second to worst kind.

Anyway, I have to go get ready for the picket/party! Toodles!

ScriptFrenzy begins on Wednesday!
~Maddie

M. You guys can comment and say what you wish. A little scholarly discussion is always good.

The only thing I have to say about this movie is that my dear sister, Kelcey, is being horrible misguided by it.

Without further ado, here's my review::

March 11, 2009

Zeitgeist (2007)

Zeitgeist is a documentary that tries in vain to prove to the world that we are all just brainless sheep following a shepherd that feeds us healthy little lies so we will continue to live our lives in the dark confines of the media and government-controlled happy land we call the world today. First of all, unless you are used to staring a a blank screen with nothing but the monotonous voice of a “scholarly” source droning on and on for fifteen minutes, you'll find yourself bashing your head into the wall before the title of the movie splashes across the screen in a very anticlimactic “I think you just put me into a second coma” sort of way. Lucky for you, if you've made it far enough into the movie to actually start seeing a movie play out across the screen, the creator of this horrid documentary will bombard you with an onslaught of “facts” to sway you from any religious beliefs you may have. Not only is the information to disprove the credibility of the Christian religion (and any religion similar to it) wrong, but the information about the religion being debunked is also incorrect. The documentarian suggests that Jesus is the Christian personification of the sun, aka that big ball of gas that keeps us warm. He goes on to discuss how the “Sun of God” is an astrological reference. Jesus had twelve disciples that directly relate to the twelve signs in the western zodiac and all this other anti-authority, freethink propaganda that sounds quite convincing when you first watch the movie. However, the more you pay attention to the facts being presented and the more you actually think about the information, you begin to realize that you've been duped by someone with a computer, some “new age” thoughts about life, some money, and a semi-decent editing program. One of the falsities that the movie presents as fact is that Jesus Christ was born on the 25th of December. HA! No, he wasn't. The Christian religion moved Jesus' birth to December 25th so that they could be in line with the Pagan holidays that were happening at the same time. The fundamental argument made by the film's creator is discredited just by having this one fact incorrect.

The movie goes on to explain to you how the 9/11 tragedy was a completely staged hoax. After all, there is no possible way for terrorists to infiltrate our soil and kill thousands of Americans with them. No. That's just ridiculous. The only possible explanation for something like that happening on American soil is that the American government set it all up and killed its own people so that they could justify a war to “protect” us, right? Wrong. Not that I don't agree with some of the points presented in this part of the movie. The laws being put into place to deal with terrorists and the such are nothing short of ridiculous and I agree that there are probably better ways to deal with these issues at hand. But, come on. Even if 9/11 was a sham set up by the government, it would be foolish to not even consider the possibility that outside organizations did this. For all the nonbelievers, they can take peace in the idea that even if a terrorist organization was responsible, they probably got all of their funded and weapons from the arms dealers that sell out-of-use weapons in America to foreign organizations that are willing to pay the price.

The third part of this movie rambles on about how the world will eventually become one government and control not only the lives of everyone in the world, but also their money. According to the film, Americans are already in constant debt because the interest on the money they take from the banks is so steep that there is no possible way to pay it off unless you borrow more money, putting you into more debt. In fact, the only people who are actually profiting from this horrible cycle are the bankers. The only thing I found myself thinking during this part of the movie was “I wonder what it take to become a banker”. Because, honestly, if they are the only ones “making bank” as it were, then why not become one? Furthermore, who doesn't like handling money all the time?

The end of the documentary does a semi-adequate job of summing up everything it just wasted two hours of your life spewing at you. All and all, the movie is like a badly written paper by some English 102 student who wants nothing more than for the quarter to be over rather than have to endure another revision of the ten pages of utter speculation that they half-heartedly researched for eleven weeks. I found myself staring dumbfounded at the screen for a good two minutes after the movie was over. After all the hype I had heard from friends and family about how this movie was a genuine piece of documentary heaven, I found myself completely and utterly baffled as to how people I considered to be educated could watch something like this and not laugh at the absurdness of it all.

The people who watch this movie, following every word blindly, and change their entire philosophy on life should probably taken out to the pasture and dealt with because they are the runts of the herd. By completely buying into this two hours of shameless propaganda against the United States government, they are no more different than the other sheep in the world that follow the government. The only difference between the two is that the people who buy into Zeitgeist are following absolutely baseless speculation made by a conspiracy theorist. I feel like I've insulted myself by having watched a piece of sheer garbage such as this.

Until Next Time,
~Maddie

M. XD I got my permit in like...December or such.

And, I'd just like to say, I did not run any stop signs because of distracting felines in driveways like I did the first time I had a permit.

My dad is teaching me the rules of the road and I'm pretty excited about it. It's really nerve-wracking being in control of the car because it's just like sooooo big and I'm the one responsible for it moving and going where I want it to go and so on and so forth. Holy poop.

Anyway, my dad is taking me on another drive tomorrow after I get out of class. Woo hoo!

As for dance:
I've been listening to Pandora Online Radio a lot recently. My favorite station that I've created is my dance station. It plays like copious amounts of 90s dance music and I'M IN LOVE!
I've fallen for this song by Right Said Fred (lol I know. I've hit the bottom.) called "Don't Talk Just Kiss". IT'S SO FREAKING RIDICULOUS! OH MAH GOODNESS!

I'm in love with dance music. I'm in love with listening to dance music while I work on homework. It's so helpful.

What's not helpful is all the ants we keep finding in the garage. :C They crawl on my laptop and it's gross. Also, there was this weird centipede-like bug curled up underneath my laptop today. It was so gross. Just like the earwig that was wandering around last week.
I guess that's the stuff you have to live with when you live in a garage.

It snailed today. :3 (snail= snow + hail)

Toodles,
Maddie

M. I must first apologize that it's been so long since I last updated this blog. I've been swamped by life in general and haven't really had the motivation to document it.

So, where to begin...

School! How about there?

Journalism:
I absolutely hate this class. I mean, I love the teacher because she's super affable and I feel like I can talk to her, however, I don't like journalism at all. At least...I don't like hard news journalism.
My first article is about how the feud between the anime club and Realm Runners at the college is becoming such an issue that both clubs could lose their charters due to the reckless behaviours of some of the members. BUT, apparently, my article doesn't have a conflict that is needed for a hard news story. And, if the conflict is that they don't like each other, then I need to find a new story. It's a total load of crap. Oh gee, I'm sorry that I don't have access to random hard news stories that I can absolutely wow you with! I'm only a college freshman with no car and a crapload of other things to worry about. I'm sorry my attempt at a hard news story isn't conflicting enough for you! Geez.
Also, I feel so out of place in that class. We had to go to an art gallery for an assignment and the next class, the entire class said that they hated the exhibit and feel like it was hard to explain the art there because it was so uninteresting. Also, apparently the artists were pretentious and rude.
I LOVED the artwork. I thought it was one of the most interesting displays I'd ever seen. Apparently, I'm the only one.
And then, we were talking about how my teacher's 19 month old was watching Puppy Bowl on Animal Planet during Superbowl Sunday and someone thought she was going to say that her 19 YEAR old was watching it. She then proceeded to say "If a 19 year old was watching Puppy Bowl, then there is something wrong with them."
I felt horrible because I'm 18 years old and I'd love to watch Puppy Bowl. The dogs are so freaking cute! But, apparently there is something wrong with me.
Needless to say, I'm definitely not enjoying the class as much as I thought I would.

English 102:
Fun fun fun! My teacher is so freaking nice and fun. She's teaching me things about writing that I had no idea about. I'm thinking on a completely different plane than I was before this. Furthermore, I rediscovered the library. Dude...did you know that at my college library, if you can't find the material you need in the library, you can get books from other libraries in the area? THAT IS SO FREAKING COOL!
Also, books smell good. :3

Math 095:
God, I hate factoring trinomials. Furthermore, I hate factoring in general. I can do it...but that doesn't mean I like it. ALSO, fractional exponentials are cool. I never thought I'd like something math related, but I like fractional exponentials even though I was having a wicked crippling stomach cramp whilst learning about them.
Lesson learned: Eat abundantly before going to a three-hour long class.

Cardio Kickboxing:
I FEEL SO GREAT! This class gets me pumped and I'm always tired after it. And yet, I wanna go out running or something after each class. It makes no sense whatsoever. I'm so ready to punch somebody in the face and have it hurt. It's so awesome. And the teacher is awesome too. Oh my god. I wish I'd known about this class before. It's like...whoa.

Ummm...what else is there to talk about? OH! Sanity. Let's try this on for size: My sister has none left.

Sometimes you see people making stupid decisions and you just wanna smack them upside the head and go "What the hell are you thinking?! Get your head on straight!"
That is definitely something I wish I could do to my older sister. She's just not making great decisions recently. She's got her head on backward and she's following the ideals of a documentary that I've heard everyone talk about called Zeitgeist. The thing she doesn't realize is that the freaking documentary doesn't even have all of its facts right.

Beana has the best description of documentaries like Zeitgeist:

"These people watched these documentaries that say 'THE GOVERNMENT IS EVIL! DON'T LISTEN TO THEM AND THEIR LIES! LISTEN TO US!' And the people listen to these conspiracy theorists and their documentaries when they have even less backing and basis than the "government conspiracies" that they are supposedly warning you about. It's like..."don't put your trust in the government because you shouldn't trust a single large group of people just because they say so! You should trust us because we say so!" and that doesn't bring up a red flag with anyone...That's stupid."

I wholeheartedly agree.

And on that note, I need to actually go and finish the homework that I am so desperately behind on. :3

Toodles,
Maddie

M. Woo!

It's weird because everyone is saying "It's so cold here." and I'm like "Oh...I didn't noticed since I was in Kansas with it's 7 degree weather and whatnot. lol"

I started my second quarter in college on Monday. Winter Quarter! Woo! It's exciting. My dad and stepmom graciously paid for my books this quarter and I feel 100% absolutely horrible that I made them spend 220 dollars on books. I hate mooching and having others pay for things that I should be able to pay for.

I desperately need a job. Augh.

So, I had my Introduction to Journalism class on Monday and it seems like it's going to be pretty awesome. REALLY work intensive though. Like...I had to read a chapter in one of our books and two chapters in another and now I'm going online to find 5 articles that were published in my year of birth. One world, two national, and two local. I couldn't find any local ones for where I live because our paper doesn't have archives farther back than 1994. Luckily, I was able to find something on the lovely Wichita Eagle website! YAY!

I'm totally stressing about my work load this quarter and it just started. My math class will probably be the easiest class I have. We learned about factoring trinomials on Monday. Fun fun. But, whatever. Mr. Williams is a pretty good teacher. He's the same teacher I had for last quarter, so I know I'll be able to succeed. Hooray for optimism!

I still need to read more in Pudd'nhead Wilson by tomorrow at 11. Which will be impossible since I have Journalism at 10 and it gets out at 10:50. And, I don't have enough time, light, or inclination to read it tonight. I'll just read it on the bus tomorrow. I have no idea if my English teacher will be peeved for that. I haven't even met her yet because she's been sick for the first two days of class. But, from what I hear, she's really cool. She apparently works out with Frost. lol

Anyway, on to the second part of my blog title:
The group of friends I hang out with at my college use to hang out in Hanna Hall at a table, thus earning us the name "The Table Dwellers". But, recently, my friend Eddie moved up to hang out at the ASCC (Student Center) to be with a slew of people he doesn't really like and his girlfriend, Naisa, who is slightly annoying.

Anyhow, all of my other friends followed them up there like little lemmings! One goes off the cliff, the others will follow!

It really frustrates me. Especially since I learned that they made a list of the reasons they left the table and the number one reasons was this girl named Jen. NO ONE LIKES HER! That's not even an exaggeration. If anyone does like her, they are about as unbearable as she is. Jen has this weird delusion that the people around her think she's cool and that she can draw really well. She draws cliche, cookie-cutter, anime-style girls in "gothic lolita" outfits or whatever the current internet anime retard fad is. It's ridiculous. I just want to tell her "Please, go learn to socialize. Learn that you aren't "the shit" as it were, and you most definitely aren't original. Get your overdone Mary Sues out of my face."

She drives me up a tree. And yet, I haven't left the table. Because I'm not a freaking idiot lemming child.

I mean, there are at least ten people who vacated the table with their number one reason being Jen. If you've got a problem with someone, ESPECIALLY JUST ONE PERSON, deal with it. Get over yourselves and deal with it. You shouldn't let one person uproot you from YOUR spot. It's one person! Make her leave! Bam! That simple. A third-grader like my little sister could do it.

Why move your entire group to a new spot where more people that you don't like hang out when you could easily deal with the one freaking person that's causing you a problem!?

It drives me up a freaking tree! In fact, I'm half tempted to tell Jen, "Hey! Guess what! Everyone moved up to the ASCC and they are totally bummed that you don't hang out up there with them. So, you should like...totally go hang out with them up there. Everyone talks about you."

Freaking lemmings.
~Maddie

PS,
You check under the bonnet while I shove him in the boot. ;D

M. I can't think of anything about my character that people wouldn't/don't know about her. I mean, she can't remember her past because she's like...repressed all of it. And her powers and everything else is totally known to everyone. It's almost to the point of keeping me up at night. ARGH! What the hell should her secrets be!?

In other news, it's snowing so hardcore back in Washington that I don't even know if I'm gonna be able to get back when I leave here on the 29th.

I'm really worried that I won't be going home. It's not that I haven't been having a good time here, but I just miss being with friends and my cat. And I desperately want to be there when Sweet Dreams starts up again. However, with the weather there, our campaign might not even run when it's suppose to. :C

This is sad.

Toodles,
Maddie

M. Whew. Glad all of my finals are out of the way. :D

I have no doubt that I did very decently in all of my classes. I'm also pretty sure I got a full-on A in my English 101 class. Mr. Maxwell is a fan of my writing style, it seems. That's all well and good. I turned in my Cow Essay to him for my final and I got an exceptional 49/50 on it! YAY ME! I was pretty proud of the paper too since I wrote most of it the night before. It was well written.

The most glorious news of all is that my Graphic Design class from hell is finally OVER! No more suffering for three hours listening to that hellish thought nazi of a teacher drone on about useless biased "facts" regarding graphic design. The woman literally squashes all individuality and turns you into little carbon copies of her. If you don't do everything how she likes it or make your design exactly how she wants it, you are rewarded with a lovely C to a C-.

I believe one of the comments I got on my rough designs for my second project was: "Rough designs are too rough."

Umm...what? They're rough designs. They're suppose to be rough. I didn't know that them being rough was being too rough. Damn. My bad. I'll try harder next time to make my rough designs more "unrough" for you, Mrs. Thought Nazi, ma'am.

Either way, I'm happy with my final project. I'm happy with everything. I'm ecstatic that I survived my first quarter as a college student. I don't think I would've made it if it hadn't been for Beana and company.

Beana was pretty much my task master. She made sure that I kept up with my work and never let me get behind. Without her, I probably would've been coming out of this quarter with a C or D grade in all of my classes. But, because of her, my Math 090 teacher thinks I'm a smartypants. My English 101 teacher absolutely adored my writing. AND, I survived Graphic Design with the hell beast.

Now that I reread that last paragraph, it makes it seem like Beana did my homework. She didn't. I worked my little tail off making sure that I had absolutely everything in for my classes. She just made sure that I was working my tail off to get it done.

In other news:
I no longer have a tail. :D

In actuality, I never did. But, I couldn't pass by the little joke there. I guess you could say I take after my father in the bad joke department.

My favorite GM (game master to the non-nerds), Gabe, is starting up the campaign she'd been running for Sweet Dreams (a totally kick butt tabletop RPG). She was going to start it up some time in the next week or so, but with me going out of town, she's waiting until January to start it back up! :D I'm super excited because I plan to have my character start developing some offensive capabilities. Currently, she has a strength of maybe...4? That's about average...I think. It means she can lift up to 100lbs. She also has no powers that grant her any damage-inflicting effects on enemies. That is, unless you count her trying to convince furry woodland creatures to attack you. :D Or if she turns invisible and trips the s.o.b. that she is fighting against.

By just leveling up her Gaia power by one, she has the capability to "shape landscape". I'm super excited about that because that means she's going to cause some major havoc. Also, I plan to start her getting Animate. With this power at level one, she can animate things up to Human Size and they follow simple instruction. That means she can totally get stuffed animals and the like to attack people. That's pretty exciting.

But, enough about Sweet Dreams...

Or...enough about the game at least.

I'm going to go make some of my own sweet dreams now. Nightie night all!

Toodles,
Maddie

M. My mom sent it to me to put on my page. It's the official countdown until I'm flying down to her house to visit. That's exciting. :D

My favorite thing about it is the song attached.

Every Christmas, my mother, older sister, and I have a tradition of listening to that particular version of Jingle Bells. We've had this tradition for what seems like ever. I honestly don't remember the year we started listening to it. But, I remember that it always makes me think of riding in my mum's Volvo with the butt warmers on in the seats and singing along as we drive to wherever we had business that day.

That song evokes a warm fuzzy feeling that can only be described as perfect.

It's one of two Christmas traditions that I keep up to this day. The other tradition is sitting down and watching my favorite Christmas movie EVER! "The Year Without a Santa Claus". That movie makes me so freaking happy inside. I catch myself singing "I Believe in Santa Claus" and "Anyone Can Be Santa" around this time of year whenever I get the chance. I've loved that movie since I was little and I will never lose my fascination with it.

I've got to admit, that movie is the reason that I still believe in Santa Claus. I mean, even though I've seen "behind-the-scenes" and I know about "Santa's helpers" as it were, I still have that childlike belief that there is a jolly old fat man living at the North Pole, waiting to give presents to all of the good little boys and girls every year.

In other news:
Santa Claus might actually be a vampire.

Think about it. I mean REALLY think about it.

He comes only at night. He only goes to houses that he's invited into. He lives at the North Pole which is shrouded in darkness for half a year. AND He's been alive since FOREVER!

Santa Claus is a freaking vampire, yo!

In other other news:
"The truth hurts worse than anything I could bring myself to do to you." ~I've Got All This Ringing in my Ears and None on my Fingers

I'm listening to that song on repeat. I love it.

That is all for today, my friends!

Toodles,
Maddie

M. I scream along with my favorite serial killer while catching up on the latest season of Dexter.

God I love that show. I mean, there is something about it that is just amazing. Maybe it's Michael C. Hall and his AMAZINGLY GORGEOUS EVERYTHING! Or maybe it's the fact that a storyline as unique and enticing as this is just something I can't pull away from.

I must admit...I started out third season not liking where it was going. It was, for lack of a better description, epically dull. But, Mr. Morgan redeemed my faith in him by pulling a complete loop-de-loop on the story.

I'm doing the "omg I can't wait until next week because I'm so antsy and need to know what's going to happen to the world's best serial killer" dance.

So, I repeat, "MIGUEEEEEELLLL!"

In other news:
"Carter" hooked back up with his ex that he was screwing around with behind everyone's back and whom everyone thought he was done with.

That boy is a Grade A Imbecile. I mean...he left her for a reason! She's a freaking succubus! She sucks the life and fun out of EVERYTHING! Why would you wanna be around that? That's why I broke up with my ex-boyfriend. No matter how cute he was, he was getting to be the definition of "Debbie Downer". And I just recently learned that he dropped out of school. Glad I bailed out when I did.

I am currently painting my nails dark blue and pink with alternating stripes of those colours.

And since I ran out of things to talk about, ADIOS!

<--- A delectable picture of Michael C. And about how cows are treated before becoming food. How they are confined in little spaces and jabbed with sharp needles and injected with tons of antibiotics and force fed food that gives them indigestion. Fun fact, ne?

So, I'm currently taking a break from the essay that I should've written over the weekend to compose my thoughts and take a breather. I really need a breather. I really want someone to just grab me by the hand and make me run away to somewhere to escape and be free and all that other good stuff that I need because the stress that I'm feeling right now is about to send me past the breaking point and I don't think I can handle a complete mental breakdown right now.

I need to find some way to relax myself.

Controversy:
Tens of thousands of things seem to be being thrown at me in a flurry of urgency. And, to be perfectly honest, I don't feel ready to handle any of these things. I've had two crying episodes in the past four days and it's not cause I'm pmsing or anything like that. I'm getting that ever familiar back pain that comes with internalizing my issues and having my qualms manifest in physically disabling ailments that I can't get rid of until the issues are dealt with.

The most overwhelming thing is money. I have no idea in the world how I'm going to be able to pay for my next quarter at school. Currently, I have about two hundred dollars to my name which is about enough to pay for one class. I need to take 12 credits to be on a full course load and be covered by my mother's dental insurance. Something that I need desperately right now because with my dad retiring from the military, I no longer have dental insurance from them and I'm having no luck finding a job because I can't get out to look for one and all the jobs for seasonal work have already been taken. Furthermore, I'm visiting my mother which means seasonal jobs are pointless since I'm not even gonna be able to work them.

I'm almost to the point of tears just writing about this stuff. I don't want to deal with it anymore.

I don't want to deal with any of it anymore.

I really just wish I could wake up in the morning and have everything sorted out. But, the chances of that happening are slim to none. Yay...I'm screwed.

I have like ten people telling me that it'll be all right and everything will work out for the best, but I honestly don't feel so hopeful as them. I'm really anticipating either not having dental insurance or not going to college next quarter.

I feel like my head is going to explode from all of this.

And...don't even get me started on the other controversies I have going on because they will take seven blogs (or one really long one) to explain and I don't feel like typing them out.

In Other News:
I was supposed to get my learner's permit for driving today, but Frost, who was going to take me to the DMV for testing, was/is in the hospital for some undisclosed reason. He says he'll be fine, which is good because I don't like it when friends are sick.

I hope he gets out/better soon. He's a cool guy and being in the hospital is never fun (unless your name is Maddie and you're visiting a friend and fascinated by all the cool supplies in the room...and the bed. Because, that's how a Maddie obsessed with House acts).

Anyway, back to writing about cows.

TTFN!
~Maddie

M. Sadly, we ended up not being able to go because it was a 21 and over club.

Here's a newsflash for you: I agreed to miss House for this adventure!

Me! Missing House! To go see midget strippers! PIRATE midget strippers!

Yeah. Frost was that convincing.

Anyhow...we haven't seen head or tail of Frost since Tuesday night. It worries me. My theory is that he is being held hostage by the midget pirate strippers and is currently fighting his way to freedom, gnawing through ropes and the sort.

If anyone could escape unaided, it'd be Frost.

In other other news:

Hey! Let's bring up "Carter" once again, shall we? Sure. Anyway, we found out this week that "Carter" is still sleeping with his ex-girlfriend whom he broke up with on Halloween. Let's take a moment to give "Carter" a dramatic idiot slow clap, shall we? Ok.

Clap. Clap. Clap.

Thoroughly disappointed by "Carter" and his idiotic behavior. However, I can't say that I didn't expect this to happen. I mean, he may be a cute piece of eyecandy to drool over when I need a break from the constant barrage of idiocy that I somehow get thrown into with the people at the table that nobody likes. (Speaking of "nobody likes", I haven't seen Randy in a long while. It's nice.) But, that doesn't mean that "Carter" is the brightest bulb in the box when it comes to his decisions.

So, shame on you, "Carter", for sending mixed signals to all the single (or not-so-single) ladies that think you're cute only to have them find out that you're screwing your ex behind the scenes.

Very classy.

Way to fail.

Did I ever explain the situation with Randy and his ridiculous "nickname" that he gave himself?

So, when Randy introduced himself to the group, he told everyone to call him "Mistic". First of all, a nickname is something someone else gives you based on how they see you. It's like how I call Beana "Lean Mean Bean Machine" because I like to mess with her already nickname. You don't get to pick your nickname (unless you're The Bob. Then it's ok.). Second of all, "Mistic"? Really? It's not even spelled right! It's M-Y-S-T-I-C, idiot. You're not cooler for spelling it wrong and you never will be, okay? Geez...stop trying to be cool because no one likes you anyone. Like seriously...I've never heard anyone ever say "That Mistic fellow is a nice chap. I daresay he's a jolly good friend to have!" or any variation of the sort.

NO ONE LIKES YOU!

Because of this fact, I refuse to call him by his self-given nickname. I call him Randy. Because that's his name. And if I ever talk to him and use his name to get his attention (which I won't because I don't want to talk to him), I'll call him Randy. R-A-N-D-Y! Rrrrrraaaaaaaandy. Just like the guy that Sophia graduated with who had sex with a goat.

I hang out with a weird bunch, don't I?

In other news:
I desperately need a new DS. My DS has broken at the hinge four times now. It's getting frustrating to keep fixing it.

Ta-ta for now!
~Maddie

M. And how "Carter" had to reaffirm his manliness by getting all flirty with Beana, Mindy, and I? Well, I decided recently that I like the attention.

Beana, however, would rather shove me in front of an oncoming bus before she'd see me with "Carter" in any way. Not that that's a bad thing. She's not jealous. She just sees "Carter" for what he really is. And, to be completely honest, I see it too.

On the boyfriend frontier: He's not that good. He's kind of not completely there all the time and when he thinks it's safe, he talks about his personal life with whatever girl he's with. Or so I've observed.

Either way, he's recently been giving ol' Maddie the eye. And I gotta say, I like being noticed. It's definitely a step up from everyone assuming that I was a lesbian earlier this year. I mean...what is up with that? I apparently give off a completely lesbian vibe that people pick up on and immediately comment on as "You don't dress girly enough, Maddie. That's why people think you're a lesbo."

I disagree. In fact, Beana put out an actual decent explanation that could potentially bust the "I'm not girly enough" excuse.
Beana's reasoning:
I'm not openly straight.

I know. I know. That sounds like a nonsensical and completely irrational reason, but it makes much more sense than the whole "not girly" thing. I mean, I'm not openly flirtatious. I don't just jump on any guy that I think is cute. And all in all, I'm as shy as shy can be when you first meet me. So, I clam up, keep to myself, and try to stay as unnoticed as possible. It's my protection. I'm not open with someone until I know who they are and if they can be trusted. And that takes me at least a week to even start.

Doesn't sound so crackpot theory now, eh?

Frost said yesterday that he doesn't know why I wear makeup. He followed it up with the fact that I dress asexually. Believe me, if I had a say, I wouldn't ever even touch makeup (concealer aside), but apparently if I don't at least put on something and make myself look somewhat girly, I won't be noticed and I'll just blend into the background as "Maddie, the lesbian chick who doesn't talk much".

I'm sick and tired of being "the lesbian chick who doesn't talk much". And now, I have a voice about it. I bring it up whenever I can. AND IF I HAVE TO HEAR RANDY SAY ONE MORE TIME THAT "Maybe she's bisexual. Maybe she just doesn't know." THEN I'M GOING TO PUNCH SOME BITCHES! Seriously...he starts up that conversation the same every time and it's like I'm not even there. It pisses me off.

Anyhow, back to "Carter"...

I really like to flirt with him currently. And I'm getting a positive response back. He calls me cute and I'm such a ridiculous sappy sap that I just go gaga-swoon over it. And I can't deny that he's several levels of yummy attractive as well. :3 That boy is a cute one indeed. (But, still no Austin. *sigh* If only he wasn't such an emo slacker...)

And Now For Something Completely Different:

A picture of me in a dress spinning.

Don't blame me. I was bored. :D
Plus, I like to think that it's a very good picture of me. All spinny and cool with it. Yo yo.
Wow...I can seriously be REALLY white sometimes...

Toodles!
~Maddie

M. I mean, this was the first Halloween in which I've been thrown into a proverbial lion's den of drama. And when I say "drama", I mean drama in the most ridiculous sense.

First off, it was my friend's birthday on Halloween. Therefore, the Halloween party we were invited to was also a birthday party. Now, this party was one of those "We say RSVP-only merely because we want to weed out the people we hate who accidentally found out about this party" parties, which never end well because someone who wasn't invited always finds out and gets hurt.

This time I had the unfortunate fortune (that sounds funny, but I can't think of how else to phrase it) of being stuck in the middle with Beana.

Basically, a good friend of mine has been bumping heads with people at the table and hasn't really been trying to resolve the issues, thus making others mad as well. Now, my other friend (who I will call birthday friend) didn't invite my good friend (who will now be referred to as distraught friend) to his party, but distraught friend didn't know that she wasn't invited to birthday friend's party. She RSVP'd and talked to birthday friend and thought everything was cool because birthday friend seemed cool with it. However, when distraught friend showed up at birthday friend's party, birthday friend got pissed and rather than deal with it like the now-21-year-old man that he is, birthday friend went and hid in his closet because he was pissy about distraught friend showing up.
Thus, distraught friend started sobbing because birthday friend is a douche bag.
Way. To. Go.
Distraught friend had to have her mother come pick her up so she could go home and feel horrible for the rest of the evening. Birthday friend came and apologized to Beana and me later that night, but we were still pretty pissed at the fact that he had to be such a freaking prima donna about it. I mean...seriously. Be a man about your problems! Don't hide in your closet because you're too much of a pussy to confront someone about the issues you have with them. Geez.

That was interesting/sucky point numero uno of the evening.

Interesting point numero dos was when my really awesome gay friend, Ren, randomly made-out with my "could've sworn you weren't gay" friend (who I will call "Carter" for this story). Anyhow, not much to this one aside from the whole fact that I have the entire thing on video and "Carter" had to spend the rest of the evening flirting with Beana, Mindy, and I to reaffirm his manliness. Poor guy was so confused.

On another note, I was a drowned girl for Halloween. I was my "Sweet Dreams" character Ofelia. For those of you who don't know, Sweet Dreams is a tabletop RPG that I play at my college. The campaign I'm in is currently on mega-hiatus (aka it's been on hiatus since February-ish) until December because our GM (gamemaster for those non-nerds) has like quabajillion and a half Literature courses that she's taking so she's SWAMPED. That's ok though because I love her muchly. She was super excited about my costume on Halloween. She kept getting pictures of me and told me that I made her happy. Mission accomplished! :D

This would be me on Halloween. :D YAY DROWNED GIRL!
Ofelia, btw, is a ghost. She was drowned, but she doesn't know how because she has Repressed Memory subplot. It's pretty cool if I do say so myself. :D

Anyway, onto other matters:

NaNoWriMo started on Saturday! :D That means I am now in the process of writing an epic 50,000 word novel about whatever I happen to want to write about. So far, I think my story is pretty interesting. (which isn't saying much because I JUST started. I have like...254 words. xD Pathetic, I know.) Anyhow, I suggest you all go to NaNoWriMo and check it out! It's definitely the place to go for all the wannabe writers out there. :D Plus: Celeb Pep Talk from Phillip Pullman this week! YAY! I love the "His Dark Materials" series! I don't care what other people say about the books being about "killing God". I still think they are fantastically written and wildly entertaining. That's good enough for me.

But, I need to go to bed now so that I'm not zombified tomorrow!

HAPPY NANOWRIMO!
~Maddie

NaNoWriMo Website

M. Let me explain:

So, I'm sitting in Hanna Hall with the Table Dwellers and we're all talking about lesbians (for probably the hundredth time). John Frost, the attractive and interesting ex-Army friend I have, placed his hand on my shoulder randomly. Being confused, I looked up at him.
"Maddie." He said to me. "Are you comfortable with who you are?"
"I...guess so." I said, very confused.
"Would you care if I fake-kissed you right now?"
"Ummm...I dunno how I feel about that." I immediately started blushing because I'm probably the most awkward person when it comes to that kind of stuff.
Anyhow, Frost then proceeded to stage-kiss me. And for those of you who don't know, stage-kissing is that thing people do when they go to kiss you but they place their thumbs between their lips and yours.
And this happening to me in the middle of Hanna Hall with a very attractive guy...needless to say, I was dying of embarrassment.
That was probably the most awkward thing that happened today.

Onto the next topic of my three random back massages. The first was from my friend Alex, who just bought some new massaging things and was testing them out on people. I was one of the test subjects. The next was from Frost after I punched him in the arm which proceeded in a noogie from him and then a back massage. Frost give really good back massages, so I wasn't protesting. And the third back massage was from my friend Andrew. He just randomly walked up and started massaging my back and then he told me I have nice hair...which seems to be the consensus of everyone at the table. O_o interesting.

I can lump the next to explanations together. In preparation for Halloween, in which I'm going to be dressing up as my Sweet Dreams character who drowned, I have been experimenting with watercolor paints and makeup to perfect my "drowned" look. Beana and I discovered that if I paint my face blue with watercolors, I look close enough to drowned. So, being awesome like we are, I painted my whole face blue and left it like that for about two hours. Then, Beana touched it up a bit so that I just looked pale and dead. We then proceeded to go for a walk. XD I think I scared an old man.

And the last one:
Beana made us go home early today after she got done with her Bioanthropology class because she said she had a surprise for me. Interested, and always up for surprises, I followed.
Apparently, before we left for school in the morning, Beana started downloading the entire Professor Layton and the Curious Village soundtrack. I absolutely love the music to that game! Especially Don Paolo's Theme. So, I was very excited for my surprise.

On a completely unrelated note:
My cat, Ned, was so cute tonight! We were watching Heroes and something happened to my favorite character so I started tearing up. The moment I got physically upset, Ned meowed and came over, purring, to comfort me. :'3 He's such a sweet cat, ne?

Still itching to start NaNoWriMo! >_< Can't wait for the Halloween party on Friday! I'm gonna take pictures of my costume and everyone else's as well! :D YAY FOR GOING TRICK-OR-TREATING EVEN THOUGH WE'RE ALL TOO OLD! :D

Toodles,
~Maddie

M. We were suppose to pick an essay out of the ones that we've read that spoke to us, find a word or phrase to describe the theme, and write a personal experience relating to that theme. Then, taking our personal experience, we find a problem and write an essay addressing both sides of that problem.

I chose lying. My thesis: The worst lies are the ones your parents tell you.

Appropriate, neh?

My favorite line is the last one:
<meta equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html;

This is probably the most annoying thing that anyone could do to another person. I insert a very real story about someone acting like their child is a complete idiot and lies to them to save their own ass. Thus is the passive aggressive way of the Maddie.

In other news, Heroes was fantastic today! I'm a little sad about A.M. dying. (I use initials to make it harder to spoil.) However, I'm glad that Matt is back in the states. :D With his turtle. And...I love that African dude. He totally rocks my socks.
P.P.'s dad is a total douche, although he filled the ever annoying plot gap that was plaguing my very existence! Hooray for now knowing how he got that scar!

Best line: "High five, turtle!" ~Matt Parkman

Oh Matt....you rock my socks and pretty much solidify your spot in the "Dad List" for me. (Btw, the "Dad List" is a list of people to become my dad if my dad were ever to die...which he won't because he's both invincible and immortal. :D)

I think I ran out of things to say for today!

Can't wait for National Novel Writing Month! :D

Until Next Time:
~Maddie
<!--[if gte mso 9]><xml> I'm a college student, a nerd and a serious procrastinator. Currently, I'm not pursuing any kind of career, although I'm interested in journalism, psychology, and video production. I'm probably the least decisive person I know, besides my good friend "The Bob". That makes it really difficult for us when we need to make a decision together. lol

Anyhow, I have had this blog for a really long time (like since I was a freshman in high school), but I suck at keeping up with blogs. I'm gonna really try for this one though! :D

And, without further ado, let's begin the blog:

Ever since I started hanging out/living with my friend, Beana, in July, she's got me hooked on Heroes. This was a show that I use to hate with a fiery passion, but now I can't seem to pry myself away from it for even a second. Beana and I even bought action figures of our favorite Heroes characters (Yay! Matt Parkman!). So, needless to say, I've got a serious new addiction that just adds on to the list of other silly addictions that I have.

So, our friend Kaitie is on her way over here as I type so that the three of us can watch Heroes: Season 2 since Kaitie hasn't seen all of it yet. It's pretty awesome. I love Kaitie. She's like me in a different body. She loves Buffy the Vampire Slayer and House, she owns a mini dv camera, and she has blonde hair. I think we were separated at birth. o_o

As for the Villians part of my title, allow me to complain about Beana and my graphic design teacher.
SHE IS A NAZI! I mean, seriously. The woman spends the entire first four weeks of school telling us that "graphic design isn't art" and "I don't want you to think of the computer when you think of graphic design", but then she goes and makes us use the computer for our projects and now we're doing a project on ART HISTORY! It's ridiculous! Furthermore, we NEVER get to work in class because she's ALWAYS TAAAAAAAALKING! It's unbearable. I'm not even that big of an artist and even I'm losing what interest I had in art.

Thank god I want to be a writer.

Anyhow, I really have nothing more to talk about at the moment. How depressing. I guess I'll go finish watching House. (Season 1: Episode 2 "Paternity". I can quote it almost perfectly. >_> My mom bought me one of the scripts off of eBay....).

Toodles all!
~ Maddie

M.
